Herman Earl Jones

Mr. Herman Earl Jones, son of the late Malachi E. and Julia Mae Shuler Jones was born June 21, 1957, in Bowman, South Carolina. While surrounded by his loved ones, he entered into Eternal Rest and Peace on Monday July 5, 2021, at his residence following a brief illness.

At an early age, Mr. Jones joined St. Michael United Methodist Church. Mr. Jones grew up in Bowman, South Carolina and was educated at Bethune Memorial High School. Mr. Jones was employed in the profession of cement masonry.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by five brothers: Ellison, Joseph, Roger, Leroy, and Malachi Jr., two sisters: Jannie and Mary Ethel and one son: Ryan O Valentine. Mr. Jones was united in holy matrimony to Mary Curtis of Minneapolis, MN.

Those remaining with loving and precious memories include three loving sons: Jerome Curtis of Minneapolis, MN, Brent Valentine of the home and Bryan Valentine of Orangeburg, South Carolina. One brother: Harry A. Jones of Randleman, North Carolina, two sisters: Earnestine Brooks of Bowman, South Carolina, and Christine (Leander) Sledge of Orangeburg, South Carolina. One adopted brother Herbert (Gloria) Sistrunk of Orangeburg, South Carolina. One uncle: Nehemiah Shuler of Bowman, South Carolina. One aunt: Elease Frazier of Branchville, South Carolina. A special friend: Brenda Valentine and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and sympathetic friends. Mr. Jones will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The service will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held on Friday, July 9,2021 at Glover's Funeral Home at 1:00pm until 7:00pm.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, July 10,2021 at Glover's Funeral Home beginning at 2:30pm. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
