MR. HERMAN DUNCAN was born on October 28, 1967 in Orangeburg, SC to the late Herbert and Emma Duncan, Sr. He entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.
Herman was educated in Orangeburg County School District. He graduated from Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School. He also went to further his education at Claflin University.
Herman joined Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church at a young age. He served as Vice President of the Mt. Nebo Church Gospel Choir until his declining health earlier this year. His faith played a significant role in his life. He served God with love, JOY, humility, and faith. Those who knew him would often hear him express his gratitude for God. He was a proud veteran of the U. S. Army. He loved fashion, singing, planting, cooking, and spending time with family. He leaves behind a legacy of love and was an individual who cherished his friends and family, deeply.
Herman was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Emma Duncan, Sr.; brother Leroy Jenkins; sister Martha Fields; his sister-in-law Alpha Singletary and his brother-in-law Wilbert Fields.
Herman leaves to cherish his sisters: Ada Johnson, Rosa Fields, Carolyn Haynes, Loretta Glover, Lynncal Duncan all of Orangeburg, SC; brothers: Herbert Duncan, Jr. of Orangeburg, and O’Neal Duncan of Florence; one aunt, Katherine Hamilton of Jamison, SC; and one brother-inlaw Sammie Fields.
A special friend Corey Whetstone and one goddaughter Phoenix Nelson-Murray and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends that will miss him dearly.
The service will proceed as follows:
The viewing will be held on Monday, October 16,2023 at Glover's Funeral Home from 2:00pm-7:00pm.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 17,2023 at Mt.Nebo United Methodist Church 1919 Kennerly Rd. Orangeburg, SC 29118 beginning at 11:00am. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
