Henry Coleman Obituary

Henry Devine Coleman was born June 19, 1963, in Orangeburg, SC to the late Issac (“Ike”) and Dorothy Mae Graham Coleman. He was called to eternal rest on Thursday, January 26, 2023.

At an early age, he joined Mount Sinai RMUE Church and later attended Bushy Pond Baptist Church. Henry graduated from Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School in 1982 and attended Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College where he studied automotive mechanics. He received numerous automotive licenses and certifications. He moved to Washington, DC in the 80s where he worked as an automotive mechanic manager at Pep Boys for years. When he returned to South Carolina he was a manager at Midas and Pep Boys in Columbia.

Henry was a hard worker with an entrepreneurial spirit. During his teenage years, he would cut lawns. Later he operated an event venue, owned a beverage store, and was a property manager for his rental real estate. He was naturally gifted in electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work and enjoyed renovating homes. He was an excellent grill master and enjoyed cooking for his family. In his pastime, he enjoyed fishing, family vacations, eating seafood, prime rib, and cruises. On his last cruise, he received ‘Platinum’ status.

Henry was a loving husband and an exceptional provider. On June 14, 1999, Henry married his soul mate, Sabrina Bell Coleman, affectionately called ‘beautiful’ and ‘queen’. To this union, Devonte was born. He has three daughters, Shay, Kiesha, and Shana.

Henry is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, the late Issac Coleman Jr. and Andrew Coleman.

He leaves to cherish his love and fond memories: his beloved wife, Sabrina Bell Coleman and one son, Devonte Devine Coleman both of Orangeburg, SC, three daughters, Shaymekia Coleman of Ladson, SC; LaKiesha Coleman and La’Shana Coleman both of Orangeburg, SC, four sisters: Laura C.
