Harry Lee Goodwin a faithful Christian was called to his heavenly home on March 21, 2025. Big Harry as he was affectionately known, was born February 20, 1944, in Eastover, South Carolina. He was the son of the late William Goodwin, Sr. and Louvenia Goodwin.
He attended Brown Chapel AME Church in Elloree, South Carolina where he was a part of the Security Ministry and Men’s Ministry.
Harry attended Webber High School, Eastover, South Carolina. Harry was united in Holy Matrimony to Cloria Goodwin for fifty-four years. This union bore two sons, Corey Goodwin and the late Allen Goodwin.
He was a devoted employee of Utica Tool for more than thirty years until his retirement.
Harry loved people and did whatever it was he could to help. He played an integral part in his community helping somebody on this journey of life. He carried out his service to all tasks in a caring and determined manner.
Harry was a Mason at Bull Swamp Lodge #312.
He liked playing the guitar, lifting weights and arm wrestling with his friends.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents-William Goodwin, Sr. and Louvenia Goodwin, his wife of fifty-four years Cloria Goodwin, a son Allen Goodwin and sisters- Martha Goodwin, Idora Brailford, Barbara Goodwin, Mary Goodwin, Edna Mae Goodwin, Teresa Goodwin, and a brother William Goodwin, Jr.
Those left to cherish fond memories of Harry Lee Goodwin is his loving and supportive son Corey (Michelina)of Jacksonville, Florida, daughter Jacquelyn Robinson-Goodwin of Blythewood, SC; a grandson, Octavian Goodwin of Blythewood, SC; two great granddaughters- Heaven Goodwin of Augusta, GA:, Erin Goodwin of Columbia, SC; five sisters- Rebecca (Becky) Goodwin, Thelma Mohammed-Brooklyn, NY; Shirley Bartley, Staten Island, NY; Lucille Goodwin McMillan, Gadsden, SC; and Victoria (Wilbur) Cline, Greenville, SC; and brother in-lawBeverly Wells of Gadsden, SC; one sister in-law; Lavern Parler of Orangeburg, SC; one Aunt- Ida Mae Corbett, Columbia, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The service will proceed as follows:
The viewing will be held on Saturday, April 5,2025 at Glover's Funeral Home from 1:00pm until 6:00pm.
The funeral will be held on Sunday, April 6,2025 at Brown Chapel AME Church 195 Browns Chapel Rd. Elloree, SC beginning at 1:30pm. All those attending must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
