Gregory Eugene Walker Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gregory Eugene Walker, who transitioned peacefully on March 28, 2025, at the age of 63. Though saddened by his departure, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion.

Gregory was born in Queens, New York, on February 28, 1962, to the late Dorothy Benjamin and John B. Walker. A proud native New Yorker, Gregory brought his big heart and strong spirit to the Bamberg and Orangeburg areas of South Carolina, where he lived for over 30 years.

A hardworking man through and through, Gregory built a strong legacy with his hands and heart. He was employed at Boeing, where he continued to take pride in doing his best every single day.

For 36 years, Gregory was the devoted husband of Petra Walker. Together, they shared a bond rooted in love, laughter, and unwavering support. He was the proud father of Charnell Smith, Duchesse (Harry) Wigfall, and Desean Spivey. He also had a special bond with his grandson, Raquon Hampton, who brought him immeasurable joy.

Gregory was a sports fanatic—you could always find him cheering for his beloved New York Giants and New York Yankees with unmatched passion. He will be greatly missed for his deep devotion to our family. His generosity and sacrifices were a daily reminder of how much he cared.

He is survived by his three brothers: John (Dawn) Walker, William (Michelle) Copeland, and Titus Turner; and a sister, Barbara Walker.

We will carry your love with us always.
