Mr. George Edward Sharperson, Sr., was born October the 11th, 1940. He was the 17th sibling of 19. At an early age, George joined Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church.
GEORGE graduated from George Washington Carver High School in 1960. He later moved from New York to Philadelphia. There, he worked at Penn Packing Company as a butcher. He also was a skilled mechanic working alongside his brother at the family owned gas station. While living in Philadelphia, George was a member of the Mason Lodge #33 in Germantown, Pennsylvania. The love that GEORGE had for driving and the open road led him to become a professional truck driver. He always got a kick out of outsmarting the police because he always had his buddy, that radar detector the "Fuzz Buster".
GEORGE later retired and moved back to home in Orangeburg, SC. To stay busy, Dad took a part time job as a security officer. Dad absolutely loved to fish. Any fish caught on his line was a good catch! He also loved cooking. Always bragging about his tasty dishes, especially his famous pig's feet.
DAD passed away peacefully in the evening of October 29th 2023. He was comforted and supported by his family and his caregiver, Ms Jeanette Burton. He was a well-loved resident of The Oaks of Orangeburg, South Carolina. There he was surrounded by nature and beautiful oak trees. He especially loved driving around in his motorized wheel chair screeching down the halls doing his absolute best to avoid running over people. (beep beep) Dad you were so loved and you will forever be in our hearts.
GEORGE is survived by his son, George Edward Sharperson Jr of California, an enterainer & retired Correctional Officer, and his daughter, Valerie Sharperson-Bowie, an Assistant with Cedar Sinai Heart Research Department both of California.
