A beautiful soul has taken flight at the call of our Heavenly Father from the distractions and weariness of time to the peace of Eternity. Today, we salute the Homegoing Celebration of Mr. George Jamison.
George, a devoted husband, nurturing father, caring brother, loving uncle, friend to all and a man of God, departed from his Earthly home on Saturday, November 4, 2023. George Jamison, was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina to the late John and Lillie Wright Jamison on February 23, 1941; the youngest of six children.
George, fondly called “Desa Boy” received his education at Andrew Chapel School and Bethune Memorial in Orangeburg County. He accepted Christ into his life and joined Andrew Chapel Baptist Church at an early age. He was nurtured in a caring and loving home along with his two sisters; Eloise Jamison Johnson and Lillie Mae Adams and three brothers; James Jamison, John Jamison, Jr. and Abraham Jamison, whom all proceeded him in death.
George was a very genuine and humble person. Most would describe him as a man with the patience of Job. He devoted his life to his family and dear friends. George also had a remarkable memory. He remembered everyone’s birthday, even if they were born years before him. George was a very hard worker. He started farming on his parents’ family farm at an early age and continued to do so until his health declined in 2013.
In 1977 George married his best friend, Sharon Miller Jamison, who proceeded him in death. He was also proceeded in death by his two grandsons Brayden and Brycen McDaniel.
George leaves to cherish his precious memory: two devoted and loving children; Christopher G. Jamison (LaTowya), Summerville, SC; and LaTrice Jamison McDaniel (Elmore), Blythewood, SC, seven grandchildren; Alayisha, Morgan, Maddison and Blake McDaniel of Blythewood, SC and Neihemiah Miller, Shamyiah and Legacy Jamison of Summerville, SC; two sisters-in-law, Ottalee Jamison, Suwanee, GA and Barbara Miller Wright, Orangeburg, SC; many faithful nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins, friends and neighbors.
Today we celebrate George and the life he lived. He was a true servant of God. Whenever he encountered someone in need you could always depend on George to lend a helping hand. We will miss him dearly, but have our memories of him to comfort us until we meet again. Rejoice that he has completed the journey he started the day he accepted The Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior.
