Frank Clay Cobb Obituary

Frank Clay Cobbs. was born June 19, 1934 to the late Thomas and Eunice (Washington) Cobbs, Orangeburg, South Carolina. After his life journey on earth, he departed at his residence October 3, 2022.
He was united in holy matrimony to the late Roxie Bell (Staley) Cobbs. To this lovely union, eight children were born and they were married for sixty-nine years.
At an early age, he joined Mount Calvary Baptist Church, North Road, Orangeburg, South Carolina. He sung on the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Male Chorus.
Frank was employed with South Carolina State University, The School of Arts and Sciences, Department of Natural Sciences as a Lab Aide II. He received recognition from the Department of Natural Science for his dedicated and unselfish service to the college and the youth whom he touched from 1954 - 1994. Frank always said, “God blessed me with the job at South Carolina State University and I retired from working that one job for forty-two years.”
He was a strong, faithful, caring man of God. He was a great handyman, enjoyed walking, gardening with wife, biking, shooting the breeze with close male friends, and having fun with family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory: two daughters, Mrs. Linda (Marvin) Felder of Orangeburg, South Carolina, and Sandra (Rev. Samuel) Lee of Newborn, Georgia; five sons, Frank C. Cobbs, Jr., Thomas (Valerine) Cobbs, Sr., John (Linda) Cobbs, and Tyrone (Kathy) Cobbs all from Orangeburg, South Carolina, Kevin (Anjelica) Cobbs of Summerville, South Carolina; one son Ricky Cobbs preceded his death; two sisters-in-law, Lillie P.
