Evangelist Beatrice King

Evangelist Beatrice King was born on March 15, 1941 to the late Peter James and Wilhelmina Johnson. She entered into eternal rest on November 2, 2021 at the Regional Medical Center.

Evangelist King was raised in Bowman, SC. She graduated from Bethune High School with the class of 1960. At an early age she joined Antioch Baptist Church. For many years she was employed in the New York School system as a School Aid.

In 1963 Evangelist King married the love of her life Johnnie L. King and to this union six children were born. She loved singing, sewing, playing the tambourine and most importantly Jesus Christ.

Evangelist King was preceded in death by her husband: Johnnie King, brothers: Clay Johnson, Peter Johnson, and Calvin Johnson, sisters: Minnie Ray Moore, Zelda Pelzer, Queen Esther Dantzler, Hilda Mills, and Rebecca Smithzer, grandson: George J. “Joey” Moore.

Evangelist King leaves to cherish loving memories her children: Kerry L. (Regina) King of Coney Island, NY, Kurt (Gale) King of Brooklyn, NY, Kevin (Carol) of Harlem, NY, Valerie (Anthony) Jones of Bronx, NY, Diedre R. (Maurice) Patterson of Coney Island, NY, and Keith (Bernadette) King, Sr. of Bowman, SC;16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother: Gregory Johnson of Columbia, SC; four sisters: Katherine Williams of Columbia, SC, Shirley Gordon of District Heights, MD, Hattie (Thurman) Zimmerman of Columbia, SC , and Suzette Johnson of Columbia, SC; two sisters-in-law: Susan Johnson of Jamaica, NY and Minnie L. Johnson of Columbia, SC and a host of other relatives that will miss her dearly.

The service will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held on Friday,November 12,2021 at Glover's Funeral Home from 12:00pm until 7:00pm.

The funeral will be held on Saturday,November 13,2021 at Glover's Funeral Home beginning at 11:00am. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
