Ernest Garvin was born June 5, 1938, in Branchville, South Carolina. He was one of eight children born to the late Lucille Baxter and Marion Garvin. Sr. He departed this life Sunday, April 17th, 2022
Ernest received his education in Branchville, South Carolina. After finishing school, he met and married Mary Ellen Williams, and from this union had three children, Franklin, Cynthia, and Diane.
Ernest and Mary migrated from his hometown of South Carolina to New York Where he began his career as a delivery driver for Armarday international paper company until he decided to retire, after working 57 years. Approximately six years ago, Ernest returned to his hometown Branchville, South Carolina
Ernest and Mary both decide to go their separate ways, while maintaining respect and admiration. Ernest met and fell in love with Jenny Moore, whom he eventually married. Through their union Ernest, gained a bonus son, Billy Carl Moore. Ernest and Jenny also adopted and raised two sisters, Shada and Doctavia Stanback.
Ernest was a beautiful selfless person who loved his family and friends. He was a father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was a blessing to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He had a soft spot for all children, and a profound amount of love for all of God’s people. A true blessing.
Ernest gave his life to the lord. During his time in New York, he was a member of Abundantly Blessed Baptist Church of Harlem, New York. Upon his return to South Carolina, he joined Saint Paul Baptist Church of Orangeburg, South Carolina
Proceeding his death, his 3 sisters; Mattie Lou Fogle, Daisy and Clydell Garvin, and 3 brothers, Freddie, Robbie and Marion Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Jenny Garvin; two brother, Clavin (Marie) Garvin, and Bobbie Franklin; two sister in-laws, Loretta Garvin, and Joyce Garvin; four daughters, Cynthia Garvin, Diane Mims, Shada Stanback, and Doctavia Stanback; two sons, Franklin Garvin, and Billy Carl Moore; six grandchildren, Shamecca Garvin (Samuel Amoh), Quwanda Davis (Howard), Nicole Alston (Hoyt) and LaCory Garvin (Kendra) and Frank Garvin Jr. (Ivy), Shaniece Mims, Theresa Alcantoro; a godson, Marques Palmer; 16 greatgrandchildren
His loses is a tremendous one to all of us, but we embrace one another and cherish all of the memories that we have of him, and he will remain in our hearts forever.
We love him, but God love him best!!!

The viewing will be held on Friday, April 22,2022 at Glover's Funeral Home from 1:00pm until 7:00pm.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 23,2022 at Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery beginning at 1:30pm. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
