Mrs. Emma Haynes Iwok was born on August 24, 1937 in St. Matthews, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Mr. Henry Haynes and Mrs. Evan Waston-Haynes.
She departed this life on February 21, 2021 at the Edisto Acute Nursing Home.
She attended the public schools in Calhoun and Orangeburg Counties. She graduated from Claflin College and worked for Orangeburg Disability and Special Needs and The Oaks.
At an early age, she was a member or Providence African Methodist Church and World Wide Church of God.
Emma loved her family, church, antique shopping and buying. She had her own business call Emma’s Pies. She enjoyed helping.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Evan Haynes. sister-in-law, Mary Haynes, cousin Aletha Caldwell, nephews, Theodore Caldwell, Sr., John Caldwell and David Caldwell, nieces, Brenda Caldwell and Albertha Caldwell-Lloyd.
She leaves to cherish her memories, Monica D. Haynes, David Haynes, Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Valerie Y. Haynes of Orangeburg, SC, Escye (Edward) Mungin-Jenkins of London, England, grand-niece, Alex Nicole Smith, sister-in-law, Hattie Mitchell Whitmire of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Evenlyn (Willie) Brown, Orangeburg, SC, George (Clara) Caldwell, James Caldwell, Moses Caldwell, Nathan Caldwell, all of Orangeburg, SC, Sgt. First Class Titheaen Stan (Christina) Sinsheim, Germany; Emma have a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
The service will proceed as follows:
The viewing will be held on Sunday, February 28,2021 at Glover's Funeral Home at 2:00pm until 6:00pm .
A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 1,2021 at Belleville Memorial Gardens beginning at 11:00am. All those attending must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
