Elizabeth Evans Obituary

Mrs. Elizabeth Davis Evans was called home to eternal rest, Monday, February 25, 2019, at her residence following a seasonon illness; in full triumph of faith. She was born on August 8, 1933 in Orangeburg County, South Carolina, to the late Mamie Johnson Davis and Frank Davis, Sr.

Liz was baptized at an early age at the Andrew Chapel Baptist Church of Orangeburg, where she also received her Christian and formal education. She relocated to Jamaica, New York in 1969. She studied and was employed as a licensed beautician, while also working for ideal Toy Company and later certified ASA Home Health Aid.

She was married to the late Ulysses (Dick) Evan. To this union tow children were born.

Liz was a lovable person to know. She will be sadly and greatly missed by her family and all who knew and love her.

She was predeceased by siblings Lurline Albury, Eddie Davis, Lucila Davis, grandson Timothy Gerald Evans and longtime companion, Frank Jennings.

Liz is survived by a loving and devoted daughter, Loretta Evans, Brooklyn, New York, son Edward James Evan, Orangeburg, SC; One sister, Bessie Pearl Davis, Orangeburg, SC; three brothers, Frank (Sarah) Davis, Jr., Cordova, SC, Leroy (Blondell) Davis and James (Ruby) Davis, of Orangeburg, SC. Sister in law, Katherine Davis of Orangeburg, SC, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, family and friends.

 

Services will be held as follows:

The family will begin greeting friends at 2:30 pm and the memorial service will begin promptly at 3:00 pm in the Glover's Funeral Home Chapel located at 2562 Charleston Hwy in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
