Elise Aiken was born in Cope, South Carolina on September 28,1936 to the late Elliott annd Jessie(Birdie) Pough-Aiken.
Elise was preceded in death by her son Terrance Aiken and three siblings, Alice Harvey, Betty Curry, and Janie Harvey.
Elise graduated from George Washington Carver High School of Cope, South Carolina. Elise loved reading her bible, puzzle books and spending time with her family. Elise, her sisters Betty and Alice along with a neighbor Ethel Johnson formed a singing group called American Jubilee Sisters. The American Jubilee Sisters sang at church events and on a Sunday radio show.
Around 1962, Elise moved to Brooklyn,New York where she worked for Dr. Yashar and Perry Hirshaut for over 40 years in Queens,New York. Elise was a member of Inspirational Baptist Church in Brooklyn,New York where she served on the Senoir Choir. Elise rejoined Emauel AME Church where she served as a member of the Mass Choir and was a member on the Missionary Board. She was an active member of the Church until her health declined. Eise entered into eternal rest on February 20,2020.
Elise leave to cherish fond memories: A son Michael Aiken of Orangeurg,SC, three daughters: Cassandra Aiken of Newark,NJ; Georgia Maxine(Anthony) Burgess of Orangeburg,SC and Kecia(Jhony) Dorismond of Brooklyn,Ny; one daughter-in-law: Kimberly Trimmingham Aiken of Poughkeepsie,NY; one brother: Elliott Aiken of Orangeburg,SC; one sister: Gertrude(Trudi) Aiken of Brooklyn,NY; nine grandchildren: Shalonda Oliver, Christopher Jackson, Anthony Dequan Burgess, Terrease Aiken, Monti Burgess, Johnny Dorismond, Kana Aiken, Tariq Dorismond and Andre Aiken; seven great-grandchildren: Trevor Oliver, Trenton Oliver, Ryleigh Burgess, Caesar Jackson, Kaedynn Burgess, Cassius Jackson and Cincere Jackson; raised in the home: Vickie Aiken, Dennis Aiken, Tonya Aiken and Naima Aiken; special family members: The Curry's, Harvey's, Busby's, Fair's Thomas, Cynthia Brown and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 27,2020 at Emanuel AME Church 1897 Hudson Rd Cope,SC 29038 beginning at 12:00pm.
