Dorothy C. Wright

Dorothy Colter Wright,was born on September 8, 1935 in Orangeburg County to the late Reeves Colter and Lena Jennings Colter. She quietly surrendered to eternal rest on November 1, 2023 at the Pruitt Health Nursing Home of Orangeburg, SC following an extended illness. Dorothy attended the public schools in Orangeburg County. She was joined in holy matrimony to the late McCoy Wright until his death in 2019.
Dorothy was affiliated with Emmanuel AME Church at an early age. She was employed as a Homecare Attendant for many years. She will be remembered as a shy, caring and loving person. She was affectionately known as “Dot”.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her loving husband: McCoy Wright; father: Reeves Colter; mother: Lena Jennings Colter; two sisters: Hazel Colter and Louie Mae Glover and two brothers: Malichi Colter and Reeves Colter, Jr.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her fond memories and love one loving sister: Sallie Dell Carter of Orangeburg, SC; two nephews: Ernest Carter, Jr. of Orangeburg, SC and Erskine Carter of Bamberg, SC; three nieces: Joyce Lockard of Orangeburg, SC, Willow Davis of Delaware, and Vivian Marrero of Brooklyn, NY; grand nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The service will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held on Sunday, November 5,2023 at Glover's Funeral Home from 2:00pm-6:00pm.

The funeral will be held on Monday, November 6,2023 at Glover's Funeral Home beginning at 2:00pm. All those attending must wear mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
