Donald Goldsmith, Sr.

Donald was born in Branchville, SC to the late Mr. Willie and Mrs. Carrie Bowman Goldsmith of Orangeburg, SC. He was the 7th of eight children. He departed his life on March 29, 2021. 

Donald attended Branchville public schools. After high school, he went into the service. Donald was a loving person that enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends. He attended Claflin College and joined the Navy. He was a Batswain Bate First Class Petty Officer. For many years, Donald attended church at Mayes Chapel in Branchville. 

Donald was preceded in death by three siblings, Jeanette, Alex and Willie Goldsmith and one devoted friend Paul Byrd, Jr. 

Donald leaves to cherish his beautiful memories to his devoted and loving wife Ruby Kelly Goldsmith. Two loving sons; Donald Terrell Goldsmith and Brandon Goldsmith of Jacksonville, Fl. One granddaughter Syuri Goldsmith; three sisters Flora Murray and Yvonne (Denoris) of Branchville, SC; and Alice Seabrooks of Bamberg, SC. One brother, Ernest Henderson of Branchville, SC. Four brother-in-laws, Alfred (Evelyn) Butler, of Columbia, SC; Willie (Nicole) Kelly, Jacksonville, Fl, Roger Kelly of Bowman, SC and Franklin (Sheran) Kelly of Branchville, SC, a devoted cousin Maebell Kelly, devoted friends Gregory and Constance McGruder of Jacksonville, FL and a host of nieces and nephews.

The service will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held on Saturday, April 3,2021 at Glover's Funeral Home at 4:30pm-7:30pm.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 4,2021 at Peter Bowman Cemetery Branchville,SC beginning at 1:00pm. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
