Mrs. Delphine Robinson Fersner (known as Babe) was born February 11, 1939, in Orangeburg, SC to the late Lonnie and Rosa Robinson. She entered eternal rest on Thursday, June 25, 2020.
Delphine was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg County. At an early age she joined Warren Chapel Baptist Church and later became affiliated with Exodus Baptist Church and Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church. She later attended Good Shephard Community Ministries until her health begin to fail.
For many of years after her retirement from the Methodist Home (formerly the Methodist Oaks) she worked for the Roquemore family as a domestic engineer whom she loved so much. She treated their children as if they were hers.
Big “D,” as known by her brother, loved to cook for her family, church and others. Most importantly she loved to go fishing with her brother and oldest sister. She was united in holy matrimony to the Allen Murray (who preceded her in death) and to this union two children were born. She later married William Fersner.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Wilson, two brothers, John Robinson and Fred (Gator) Robinson, four brothers-in-law and two nieces.
She leaves to cherish fond memories: one daughter, Gloria (George) Collier; one son, Steve Murray (Sander Bickerstaff); five sisters, Margaruet (Charlie) Thornton of Lithonia, GA; Martha Helen Wolfe, Capital Heights, MD; Sally (Henry) Houser, Bowman, SC; Shirley (Van Scott) Glover, Orangeburg, SC; Betty Cokely, Orangeburg, SC; and Patricia Johnson, Lancaster, SC; one Brother, Reverend Lonnie (Joan) Robinson; five sisters-in-law, two who are dear to her, Theresa Robinson, Wyandanch, NY, and Angie Robinson; two brothers-in-law; One niece that was raised in the home as a daughter, Margaret Murray, Orangeburg, SC; six grandchildren, Shakiya Drayton, Fort Pierce, FL; Quantasha Drayton, Columbia, SC; RaQuan Hampton, JaQuan Murray, Florida; JaQuanna Murray of the home, and Jalonna Murray, Orangeburg, SC; A host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The viewing will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at Glover's Funeral Home from 2:00pm until 7:00pm.
Funeral Services will be held on June 29, 2020 at Glover's Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 2:00pm.Services will be streamed live on our Facebook page Glover's Funeral Home of Orangeburg. All those attending must adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
