Life Reflections

Ms. Delores Ann Utsey, a mother to five beautiful children and a native of Orangeburg, South Carolina, took her final rest after battling a brief illness at Edisto Post-Acute Care Facility on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 3:17pm. Delores was diagnosed with lung cancer in March of 2021. Delores was born on September 7, 1964 to the (late) Mr. Willie Preston and Ms. Peggy Utsey of Orangeburg, S.C.

She was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg and proceeded to maintain a lengthy career as a production worker at Husqvarna and North America Containers. She was a veteran member of the Narcotics Anonymous program, celebrating up to twenty-six years of recovery and helping to sponsor and lead many of her peers in the program as well. In the community, she dedicated time to mentoring those who were incarcerated in the Orangeburg County Jail through the NA program as well. She was a well-known member in the community of Orangeburg as a hard worker, devoted mother, stylish and gracious woman who kept God at the forefront of her life always.She will be missed for her laughter, dancing to all her favorite songs, hosting the neighborhood cookouts, and being a comfort to those who needed her guidance and love.

She is survived by five children to carry on her memory: Anthony Michael Utsey, Nicole Shanta Utsey, LaMarcus Kentrell Utsey (LaShonda Monique Utsey), Bianca Unique Allen, and Yohannes Omar Utsey. Her three surviving siblings are: Nelson Utsey, Frankie Jones, and Yolanda Jones. She also leaves her grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and others to celebrate her life. Delores lived a full life and was never a stranger to anyone she met. Her smile, laughter and vibrant personality will continue to live forever in all of our hearts. Her children express their deepest gratitude for your continued support during this time of grief with the family

The service will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held on Friday, June 25,2021 at Glover's Funeral Home at 3:00pm until 7:00pm. 

The funeral will be held on Saturday, June 26,2021 at Glover's Funeral Home beginning at 11:00am. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
