Cassandra Denise Kennedy was born on May 9, 1970 in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She departed this life on June 20, 2020 after a brief illness. At an early age, she was introduced to Christ at the Refuge Church in Orangeburg, SC where she sung on the choir. She later became a member of United Refuge Church in Orangeburg. She served faithfully on the usher board and sung on the young adult choir.
Cassandra was a graduate of Bowman High School. After high school she attended Charleston Southern University where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. While attending Charleston Southern University she was a member of the CSU Cheerleading Team and CSU Gospel Choir.
After graduating, she relocated to Maryland where she was employed by the Children’s Hospital of Washington, D.C. as a Finance Counselor. She later moved back to Bowman, SC where she was employed by The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, SC and later Lexington Medical Center in Lexington, SC as a Revenue Cycle Specialist.
Cassandra was a very outgoing and family oriented. Her sisters would describe her as brave, funny and strong-willed. She loved to sing, read, cook and take care of others. She was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
She leaves to mourn but cherish fond memories, her son Jayden Patrick Kennedy of Bowman, SC; parents Min. Leon and Freddie Mae Robinson of Bowman, SC; sisters: Georgetta Kennedy of Bowman, SC and Leontyne Robinson of Atlanta, GA.; aunt Wilma Gena (James Albert II) McCray of Brandywine, MD; three special cousins: James (Danielle) McCray III, Chantal (Michael) McCray-Robinson and Jamal McCray of Brandywine, MD; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, family and friends.
The viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 24,2020 at Glover's Funeral Home at 12:00pm until 7:00pm.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 25,2020 at Heavenly Rest Memorial Gardens beginning at 11:00am.
