Carrie Govan

Mrs. Carrie Govan was born August 20, 1933 to the late John Henry Forrest and Sarah Moorer in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She entered into heavenly rest on July 6, 2020 at Pruitt Health of Bamberg in Bamberg, SC. 

Carrie was the third oldest to seven children. She was educated in the Orangeburg County School system. Upon graduation she relocated to Brooklyn, New York where she worked as a Nursing Assistant. She was joined in holy matrimony to the late Johnny Green, to this union one child was born. After the passing of her husband, Carrie focused on raising her son, Henry Green. 

After her son graduated out of high school she decided to relocate home. She was a Nursing Assistant for the Methodist Oaks until she retired. 

Carrie was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters and brothers and her husband Willie Govan. 

Carrie is survived by her son: Henry "Jackie" Green of the home, one sister-in-law: Vertelle Forrest and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss her dearly.
