Carolyn “Poochie” Brooks was born July 31, 1962 in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She graduated from Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School Class of 1980. She transitioned to God’s Heavenly resting place February 6, 2022.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Leroy Dickson.
She leaves behind a loving mother, Lillie Mae Brooks, lifelong partner of 43 years, Samuel Larry Capers. She leaves a loving daughter, Sophia (Johnathan) Frazier; three grandchildren; SaQuel Pepper, Sa’iria Brooks and Sylek Moorer; one great-grandchild, DaJour Murphy; one honorary granddaughter, Markayla Barnes and nine brothers and sisters, Elliot (Carolyn) Brooks, Mervin Brooks, Catherine Brooks, Pam Fields, Jana Yazbeck, Retta (George) Bryant, Roy Lee Brooks, Author Simmons, Andre Gundy; a sister-in-law, Cotina Brooks, six step-sisters and two step-brothers; two aunts, Dolores Green and Virgie Moore.
Poochie was tough, strong and she loved hard. Her strength and determination to succeed was unmatched. She had an impeccable work ethic and anyone who encountered her loved her. Poochie never met a stranger. She gave so much love and helped so many. She will truly be missed.
The service will proceed as follows:
The viewing will be held on Sunday, February 13,2022 at Glover's Funeral Home from 12:00pm-7:00pm.
The funeral will be held on Monday, February 14,2022 at Glover's Funeral Home beginning at 11:00am. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
