Carolyn Mitchell Seawright was the eldest of 14 siblings born on May 25, 1943 in Orangeburg, South Carolina to the late Walter Mitchell, Sr. and Clarcy M. Mitchell. She departed this life on January 19, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.
Carolyn was educated in Orangeburg South Carolina public schools and worked tirelessly in various occupations until her retirement. She was the anchor for her family, a nurturer who took care of others and a giver who rarely thought of herself.
Carolyn was a long-time member at St. Paul Baptist Church and served as a member of the Adult and Senior Usher Boards and the Senior Ministry. Carolyn loved her church and was always willing to assist members and community where needed.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Marilyn Jamison, her brothers, Leon Mitchell, David Mitchell, her sisters, Annie L. Minson, Gladys Naomi Mitchell, Loretta M. Bradley.
Carolyn is survived by her two children, Willie (Cathy) Seawright, Jr. of Columbia, South Carolina and Sharon Daniels of Kissimmee, Florida.
Carolyn was the proud grandmother to Ariel Jamison, Joshua Jamison, Candice Seawright, Jordan Seawright, Rashad (Jazmyn) Daniels, Kiaree Daniels and Akeem Daniels. In addition to her children and grandchildren are her greatgrandchildren: Kaden Daniels, Jediah Daniels, Maurice Daniels, Amara Daniels, Joshua Jamison, Jr.
Also left to cherish wonderful memories are her sisters: Clarcy M. Brown, Aggie M. Jackson, Patricia A. Jackson, Deloris M. Davis, Sylvia E. Mitchell, Linda M. (Arthur) Green and Anna L. Parker, and brother Walter (Elizabeth) Mitchell Jr., and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 28,2026 at Glover's Funeral Home from 1:00pm-6:00pm.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, January 29,2026 at St. Paul Baptist Church beginning at 1:00pm.
