Carlis Evans affectionately known as “Cocky”entered into eternal rest at his residence on Monday, September 14, 2020 in Cordova, SC. Carlis was born on April 15, 1954 in Orangeburg,SC to the late Jeff and Susie Robinson Evans.
He was educated in Orangeburg County Public Schools. Carlis was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Bolentown, SC where he was on the Male Chorus.
He was preceded in death by one son, Carlis Rhames; one brother, Theodore Evans; three aunts, Jimmie Lou Polite, Dorothy Evans and Mattie Sharpenson; two uncles, Charlie and James Robinson; and one brother-in-law, Elder Ronald Debold.
Carlis leaves to cherish his fond memories; two sons, Carlos Shuler and Nardis Rhames of Orangeburg, SC; one daughter, Natasha Owens, of Orangeburg, SC; six sisters, Dorothy Debold of
Orangeburg, SC; Lee Evans of Greenville, SC, Annette (Marvin) Bryant and Jannette (Leroy) Moultrie both of Orangeburg, SC, Carolyn Evans of Atlanta, GA and Janie Owens of Orangeburg, SC; two brothers, James (Salley) Evans of Orangeburg, SC and Lloyd Evans of Buffalo, NY; grandchildren; one aunt, Beatrice Todd of Buffalo, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The service will proceed as follows:
The viewing will be held on Saturday,September 19,2020 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday,September 20,2020 at Belleville Memorial Gardens beginning at 1:00pm.
