Mr. Carl Dennis Singletary was the son of the late Mr. Shelly Singletary and Mrs. Gwendolyn Murphy Singletary.

Carl was born in Calhoun County on January 28, 1951.  He departed this life on February 2, 2024, at Edisto Post Acute Nursing home, Orangeburg, SC, after an extended illness.

At an early age, Carl joined Saint Stephen United Methodist Church, North Road, Orangeburg, South Carolina.  He later attended Williams Chapel AME Church. Carl was a graduate of Wilkinson High School.  He was an excellent painter and yard maintenance worker.  He loved his cats and dogs.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Coretta Chavis; mother and father, Shelly and Gwendolyn Singletary; brother, Harold Singletary; sisters, Barbara and Bertie Singletary.

Carl is survived by his wife Christa Ann Singletary, grandchildren Braxton and Mario Chavis; great grandchild, Drako K. Harris; brother, Steven Singletary of Augusta, GA; two sisters, Rev. Shirley Nichols of St. Matthews, SC and Kathy Middleton of Orangeburg, SC; a special niece, Mercedes (Cedric) Walker of Orangeburg, SC; brothers-in-law, Herman (Dorothy) Chavis of Columbia, SC; Allen C. (Joyce) Chavis of Mauldin, SC; one sister-in-law, Alfair P. Chavis of Orangeburg; and a special friend, Thaddeus Reed and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.

The service will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held on Thursday, February 8,2024 at Glover's Funeral Home from 1:00pm until 6:00pm.

The funeral will be held on Friday, February 9,2024 at Glover's Funeral Home beginning at 12:00noon. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
