Beulah (Govan) Sanders

Ms. Beulah M. Govan-Sanders, daughter of the late Mr. Willie Lee Govan and Mrs. Eartha Mae Frazier Govan. Beulah was born October 13, 1944 in Cope, South Caroli- na. On September 10, 2020 God sent His angels to MUSC to bring her to her heavenly home.

At an early age Ms. Beulah joined Emanuel AME Church of Cope, SC. She attended GW Carver High School in Cope, SC. She later moved to New York City and from there moved to Washington, DC where she made her home for several years. Beulah joined New Samaritan Baptist Church in DC where she was a Senior Usher on the Usher Board (Just imagine Madea on the usher board).

Beulah worked at George Washington University for 27 years before retiring due to health related issues. She then moved back to Cordova and joined Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Sanders and two brothers: Marion Govan and George Govan.

Survivors include one daughter: Lenora Davis and a son- in-law she loved to death, Clyde Davis of Charleston, South Carolina; two brothers: Clarence (Eartha Bell) Govan of Cordova, South Carolina and Junior Clay Govan of Cope, South Carolina; one sister-in-law: Faye Govan of New York; grandchildren: Lakisha Monique, Martino, Danielle, Isaiah, Ivana and Ian; one very spe- cial great-grandchild: Azaria who was the apple of her eye and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

The service will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held on Friday,September 18,2020 at Glover's Funeral Home at 3:00pm until 7:00pm.

The service will be held on Saturday,September 19,2020 at Glover's Funeral Home beginning at 11:00am.
