Barbara Ann Raysor was born June 2, 1949 to John and Rever Raysor in Orangeburg, SC. She was the oldest of four sisters. She entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 20, 2024.
Barbara was educated in the Orangeburg School System until graduating from Wilkinson High School in 1967. She attended Benedict College in Columbia, SC and Orangeburg Calhoun Technical College.
Barbara worked at the Orangeburg Youth Development Center under the direction of Mrs. Jayne Clement. She was later employed by Claflin University as a secretary in the office of Admissions and Records until her retirement.
While employed at Claflin, Barbara was afforded the opportunity to travel to Paris, France as the choir performed on their tour.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents John and Rever Raysor and a sister Gwendolyn.
Barbara leaves to cherish her fond memories two sisters: Patsy Goodwin of the home and Janice Raysor of Columbia, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
The service will proceed as follows:
The viewing will be held on Thursday, May 2,2024 at Glover's Funeral Home from 2:30pm-6:00pm.
The funeral will be held on Friday, May 3,2024 at Williams Chapel AME Church beginning at 11:00am. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
