Auther Kelly was born to the late John C. Kelly and Agnes Gaines Kelly in Bowman, South Carolina on June 28, 1939. He transitioned from life into eternal rest on August 22, 2025, after an extended illness. He attended the Murray Rosenwald (Dorchester) and the public school of Bowman.
Auther left Bowman, SC at an early age and moved to Washington, DC before returning back to South Carolina. Auther worked in Masonry for Miller Long Construction Company and continued his craft with the Baker Masonry & Berry Masonry after moving back to South Carolina.
Auther was preceded by his parents, John & Agnes Kelly; his wife Dezemarie Kelly; and 3 brothers: James, Harold, and Leon Kelly.
He enjoyed playing checkers with his youngest brother Louis, working and family fun.
Auther leaves to cherish fond memories to his loving children - Denise Perry, William W. Perry, Sandra Perry, and Barbara Perry; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He also leaves behind his sister Queen Ester Whitaker, a special Sister-in-Law Barbara Kelly and two brothers John Kelly (Claretha) and Louis Kelly; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The service will proceed as follows: 

There will be NO PUBLIC VIEWING. 

The funeral will be held on Friday, August 29,2025 at Glover's Funeral Home  beginning at 11:00am.
