Alvin “Chook” Thomas, Sr., was born in Orangeburg, SC on August 23, 1955 to the late Levy and Alice Thomas. He entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at his residence.
At an early age he was a member of Nazareth United Methodist Church. He attended public school in Orangeburg, SC. He was a dedicated employee at Greenwood Mills for 30 years. He also worked at Tyson Foods as a packer and sanitation wipe down worker. He later went to Johnston Mills and Minetta Mills to work as a machine operator and forklift driver where he loads and unload trucks. He also worked at Electrolux Outdoor products for 6years from 2000-2006 as an assembler production worker. Alvin loved watching wrestling and looking at old cowboy’s pictures, playing cards and spending time with his family especially his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents: Levy and Alice Thomas, his sister: Rosa Moorer and his brothers: Levi “Bubba” Thomas, Leroy Thomas and Marion Thomas.
Alvin leaves to cherish his fond and loving memories his loving and devoted wife Diann A. Thomas of the home Charlotte, NC; two daughters: Kiesha (Ron) Houser of Orangeburg,SC; Juanita Almonds-Bryant of Charlotte, NC; two sons: Alvin Thomas, Jr. of Monroe, NC and Demetrius Thomas of Charlotte, NC; one suster: Mattie Jones of Orangeburg, SC; one brother: Joseph (Helen) Thomas of Orangeburg, SC; two brother-in-laws: Donald (Wanda) Bradley of Orangeburg, SC and Victor (Joyce) Quintanilla of Monroe, NC; one sister-in-law: Jeanette Almonds of Orangeburg, SC; 13 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, greatnieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.

The service will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held on Friday, December 29,2023 at Glover's Funeral Home from 2:00pm until 6:00pm.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, December 30,2023 at Glover's Funeral Home beginning at 2:30pm. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
