Albert Rousseau Breeland

Mr. Albert Rousseau Breeland, was the son of the late Joerod and Inez (Salley) Breeland. 

He was born on December 22, 1945 in Orangeburg County. He entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 10, 2020. 

At an early age, He joined William Chapel A.M.E. Church, Orangeburg, S.C., and later joined Emanuel A.M.E. Church, Cope, SC. Albert was educated in Orangeburg County Public School System, Orangeburg, S.C. 

He served in the United States Army and was a full pledged combat disabled veteran hero. He received two purple hearts and a bronze star for his service in the Vietnam War. In his commu-nity he valued himself as a community activist working to elect people and fighting for positive change. He was a former Presi-dent of the Whittaker Heights PTA, former Orangeburg County Commissioner, and a staunch advocate for education. 

Mr. Breeland was united in holy matrimony to his beloved wife of 54 years, the late Mrs. Pearline Bodrick Breeland. 

He leaves to cherish his memory, five children: Kelvin (Gwen) Breeland and Deborah Breeland both of Orangeburg, SC, Avis (Tony) Gillard and Monica Fersner both of Columbia, SC, and Andre (Veronica) Breeland of Ft. Mill, SC; three siblings: Ethel B. Moseley and Joerod Breeland Jr. both of Orangeburg, SC, and Ronald (Joan) Breeland of Bronx, NY; four-in-laws: Hercules (Shirley) Hampton and Henrietta (Ronald) Ellis both of Orange-burg, SC, Raphael Hampton of Yorktown, VA, and Aaron (Queen) Hampton of Charlotte, NC; one uncle: Deacon Louis Berry; nineteen grandchildren: Ashley, Keisha, William, DeAn-dre, Ephraim, David, Amber, Kristin, Matthew, Imani, Jaylon, Taylor, Lauryn, Brandon, Amir, Shayla, Nasir, Taveion, and Sevin; four great-grand children: Tyler, Kinsley, Bryson, and Anyla; two best friends: Dr. Kenneth (Marilyn) Mosely and Mr. Ronald (Brenda) Green and a host of nieces, nephews and other relative and friends.

The service will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 18,2020 at Glover's Funeral Home from 1:00pm until 7:00pm.

The service will be held on Wednesday, August 19,2020 at Glover's Funeral Home beginning at 11:00am.Services will be streamed live on our Facebook page Glover's Funeral Home of Orangeburg. All those attending must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
