Alan Myers Obituary

Mr. Alan Alonzo Myers affectional known as “Lonnie” was the son of Mrs. Bessie Jennings Myers and the late Mr. Jacob Myers was born on September 17, 1957 in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
Sunday morning on June 15, 2025, he gained his wings and went to his heavenly home. Lonnie was friendly, talkative and loved by all who knew him. He was a brother, uncle, father and a devoted caregiver for his mother in the home.
“ Lonnie” was reared on Edisto Drive and attended Orangeburg- Wilkinson High School and a member of the class of 1975.
“Lonnie” was employed at Allied Air as a machinist until his retirement. He was also employed at Husqvarna for many years.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his Father: Mr. Jacob Myers, his sister: Sandra Loretta Curry, brother: Jacob Sylvester Myers, and a niece; Felecia Patrice Myers- Irick.
“Lonnie” leaves to cherish fond memories his loving mother of the home, Mrs. Bessie Myers, son; Jarren Myers, Columbia, SC, a brother; Ricky Myers, (loyal friend), Thomasina Garrett, Columbia, SC; brother-in-law; Dexter Curry, of Orangeburg, SC, a sister-in-law Janie Myers of Orangeburg, SC, Grand Son-in-law DeVore Irick of Orangeburg, SC. He also leaves behind favorite nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

The service will proceed as follows:


The viewing will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Glover's Funeral Home from 1:00pm until 6:00pm.


The funeral will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 at Emanuel AME Church, 1897 Hudson Rd, Cope, SC 29038, beginning at 11:00am. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
