Adeline Phelps Obituary

Mrs. Adeline Boneparte Phelps was born on October 10, 1949 to Mrs. Albertha Boneparte and the late Eldon Boneparte. She departed this life on Monday, September 2, 2019 at The Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
Adeline joined Macedonia A.M.E. Church at an early age and later joined Good Hope A.M.E. Church where she attended until her death. Adeline served as an Usher and Missionary.
She was married to the late Julius Phelps, Sr. for 49 years. To this union four children were born.
Adeline was employed at US Enterprise for several years and later worked at Atlas Food Services and Senior Catering.
After retirement she worked part-time at Carver-Edisto Middle School and the STAR Center in the Food Service Department.
Adeline was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. She enjoyed high school football and basketball games and attended regularly with her grandchildren and sisters. Most of all she enjoyed family gatherings and the Boneparte Annual Family Vacation.
Adeline was preceded in death by her father Mr. Eldon Boneparte and husband Julius Phelps, Sr.
Adeline leaves to cherish to fond and loving memories to her four children, Julius (Lisa) Phelps, Jr., Tracy (Timothy) Ware, Keith Phelps and Terrance Phelps; her mother, Mrs. Albertha Boneparte); four sisters, Kathleen Boneparte, Janie Lee (Walter) Parker, Loretta Ford, and Lorene Manigo; two brothers, Harvey (Mattie) Boneparte and Eugene (Gloria) Boneparte; twelve grandchildren and give great-grandchildren; four sisters-in- law, Virginia (James) Ryant, Geraldine Busby, Jeanette (Isaac) Brown, Jill (Bobby) Brown; one brother-in-law, Robert (Victoria) Jennings; four aunts, Flossie Thompson, Lumisha (Glen) Mayers, Rosa Watkins, and Lurline Richardson; two uncles, William (Dorothy) Green and Herbert (Kathy) Green; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

Services will proceed At follows:

The viewing will be held on Friday, September 6, 2019 at Glover’s Funeral Home at 1:00pm until 8:00pm. 

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Good Hope AME Church located at 1849 Carver School Rd in Cope, SC 29038 beginning at 11:00am.
