Miss Addie Lou Jackson was born on November 19th 1946 in Orangeburg, SC to the late Lou Queen Jackson and George (Snuke Corley) Jackson, Sr. She departed this early life at the age of 77 on December 20, 2023
Addie received her education in the public schools of Orangeburg County at an early age she became a member of Olive Grove Missionary Baptist Church
Addie relocated to New York where she was employed for many years at C- Town Supermarket. There she was a part of a community for friends and co-workers who adored and loved her. They would tell you that Addie was a little lady that was tough when she needed to be to get the job done but was also gentle and generous and willing to help when she could.
She was preceded in death by her parents three sisters Daisy Bell Simmons Queen Elizabeth Jackson and Deborah Howell; and one brother, Jonathan Sharrow.
She leaves to cherish fond memories her spouse, David White of Queens Village ,NY; two daughters, Gwendolyn Jackson of Orangeburg SC; Jennifer Cunningham of Chattanooga Tennessee; one son Stanley Jackson Orangeburg , SC; three sisters: Tom Senor (Lucious) Shuler, Rose Marie (Lennie) Felix, and Patricia (Jimmie) Harrison, all of Orangeburg; two brothers George (Paulette) Jackson and Ronald (Teresa) Sharrow of Orangeburg SC; sister-in-law Geneva Sharrow; six grandchildren Jasmine Jackson, Jaliyah Cunningham, Ja’Myia Jackson, Christopher (Pam) Jackson, Ebony (Rodrick) Glover and Stanley Jackson, Jr.; four great grandchildren; one uncle and aunt Franklin (Shirley) Jackson; special cousin Betty Grant-Jamison; special friends Hedda Brown, Mary Lett, Debbie Clark, Edner Jean, Esther Chester, Suzutte James, Romona Woolford, Hosa, Alex, Ewin, Shmena, Shawna, Wiskin and a host of nieces, nephews, and other living relatives and friends.
The service will proceed as follows:
The viewing will be held on Thursday, December 28,2023 at Glover's Funeral Home from 3:00pm until 7:00pm.
The funeral will be held on Friday, December 29,2023 at Olive Grove Missionary Baptist Church 305 Old Elloree Rd. Orangeburg, SC 29115 beginning at 1:00pm. All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
