Shalon Gilmore
-Daniels was born February 25, 1971 in Brooklyn,
New York to the late Clara Mae and Fred Gilmore. She was called to be
with the Lord on October 27, 2019 after a brief illness.
The family moved to Bowman, South Carolina where she attended the
public schools in Bowman, SC. She later earned a Bachelors Degree in
Accounting from South Carolina State College.
Shalon found the Lord at an early age and joined Mt. Olive AME
Church. In 1993, Shalon moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where she met the
love of her life, Michael Daniels. They were untied in holy matrimony
and to this union one child was born, Christian Daniels.
Shalon was a fun loving, compassionate person who was known for her
contagious smile and laughter. She loved her family unconditionally. She
loved family gatherings and was referred to by her nieces and nephews as
the “Coolest Aunt Ever!” she was also known for her great recipes to
which she credited to her mother Clara. She worked inside and outside the
home as a customer service specialist for Avon Corporation for over 16
years.
Shalon was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Alvin and
Willie Gilmore and one sister-in
-law: Sylvia Gilmore.
She leaves to celebrate her life her husband: Michael Daniels; one son:
Christian C. Daniels of Cincinnati, Ohio; two step daughters: Casey
Daniels and Carla Stallings of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters: Annette
(Michael) Williams of Cincinnati, Ohio and Marian (Danny) Berry of
Bowman, SC; two brothers: Fred Gilmore of Charleston, SC and James
(Sandra) Gilmore of Ocala, Florida; a special nephew reared in the home
as a brother: Kenneth (Tamisha) Gilmore of St. Matthews, SC; mother-in

law: Jeantia Richerson of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister-in
-law: Cynthia
Gilmore of Charlotte, NC; two brothers
-in
-law: Reggie (Shauna) Richer-
son and Eric Richerson all of Cincinnati, Ohio; uncle: Wilson (Bessie)
White of Vance, SC; two aunts: Eva White of Vance, SC and Dorothy
Gilmore of Brooklyn, NY; one God-son: Daniel Berry of Bowman, SC;
special friends: Rosenda Murray of Columbia, SC; Jehan Mahaned of
Washington, DC and Tamariah Pope of Cincinnati, Ohio; two special
sisters: Elnora Gillespie of Atlanta, GA and Connie York of Charleston,
SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will proceed as follows:
The viewing will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Glover's Funeral Home at 12:00pm until 8:00pm.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 8, 2019 at Rock Hill AME Church located at 405 Rock Hill Rd in Vance, South Carolina 29163 beginning promptly at 12:00pm.
