Sarah Louise Moorer, transitioned to her heavenly home on Sunday morning, August 18, 2019 in her home surrounded by her loving family following an extended illness.

Sarah was born June 4, 1937 in St. Matthews, S.C. She was the daughter of the late Hercules and Lucille Moorer.
A Life Celebrated and Remembered...
Sarah was a faithful member of Ebenezer A.M.E. church in St. Matthews, S.C. She was a graduate of the 1955 inaugural class at John Ford High School. Sarah moved to New York City after her high school graduation. A hard worker, she obtained her first job at the Ideal Toy Factory in Jamaica, New York. Subsequently, she became employed at the New York Telephone Company, from which she retired after 35 years of dedicated service.
Sarah married the love of her life, Mr. Dennis Oglesby, in 1968. Together, she and Dennis enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time with their family and friends.
Her Loving Family...
Left to cherish fond memories are her devoted husband Dennis Oglesby; their sons: Derrick Moorer of the home, Eric Oglesby (Lisa) of Peachskill, New York, and Victor Oglesby (Jodi) of Bronx, New York; grandchildren: Victoria Lemrabott (Baty) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Dennis Oglesby (Rashanna) of Long Island, New York, Eric Oglesby, Jr. of Jamaica, New York, and Anthony Oglesby of Savannah, Georgia; a host of great-grand children; sisters-in-law: Mamie Oglesby (Homer),Clyntharee Ogles- by (Talmadge), Pernice Smith (John C.), Bernice Dawkins (Rev. L.D.), and Sarah Redish (Elijah) all of Gaffney, South Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Sarah was predeceased by her sisters Barbara Moorer and Naomi Whaley.
The services will proceed as follows:
The viewing will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Glover’s Funeral Home from 2:00pm until 8:00pm.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 26, 2019 at Glover’s Funeral Home beginning at 12:00pm.
