Mrs. Pearline Bodrick Breeland, was the daughter of the late Henry and Freddie Mae Hampton and Leviticus Daniels. Pearline was reared in the home of her grandparents, Mr. Harvey (Matilda) Bodrick of Orangeburg, S.C.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Bernard Hampton, sister-in-law Rose Marie Hampton and Aunt Louise Berry. She was born on February 19, 1948 in Orangeburg County. She entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 19, 2019.
At an early age she joined Andrew Chapel Baptist Church and was baptized. Pearline was educated in the Orangeburg County Public school system and was a 1966 graduate of Wilkinson High School. She attened Jacksonville Business College in Jacksonville, Florida. She obtained a B.S. in Sociology from Claflin College in Orangeburg, S.C, where she became a member of the Gamma Nu Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc and graduated Cum Laude. She was employed by South Carolina Department of Social Services. Pearline was known for her sweet spirit and acts of kindness to all she encountered.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories: her husband of fifty three years, Albert Breeland. In this union, four children were born: Mr. Kelvin (Gwendolyn) Breeland and Ms. Deborah Breeland, both of Orangeburg, S.C., Mrs. Avis (Tony) Gillard of Columbia, S.C., Mr. Andre ((Veronica) Breeland of Fort Mill, S.C., Ms. Monica Fersner of Columbia, S.C.; Siblings, Hercules (Shirley) Hampton of Orangeburg, S.C., Raphael Hampton of Yorktown, V.A., Aaron (Queen) Hampton of Charlotte, N.C., Henrietta (Ronald) Ellis of Orangeburg, S.C., Terri (Shalum) Bey of Virginia Beach, V.A., Christina Darby of Orangeburg, S.C.; Four in-laws, Ethel Moseley ad Joerod Breeland, both of Orangeburg, S.C., Ronald (Joan) Breeland of Bronx, N.Y. and Lynette Hampton of Sanford, N.C.; One uncle, Deacon Louis Berry of Orangeburg, S.C.; 19 grandchildren: Ashley, Keisha, William, DeAndre, Efrem, David, Amber, Kristin, Matthew, Imani, Jaylon, Taylor, Lauryn, Brandon, Amir, Shayla, Nasir, Taveion, Sevin; 3 great-grandchildren: Tyler, Kinsley, Bryson; a dear friend of the family, Dr. Kenneth Mosely of Orangeburg, S.C. and a host of family and friends.
Services are as follows:
The viewing will take place at Glover's Funeral Home on January 24, 2019 from 12:00pm until 8:00pm.
The service will take place at Andrew Chapel Baptist Church (3670 Five Chop Rd. Orangeburg, SC 29115) on January 25, 2019 at 11:00am
