Mary Ruth "Betty" Felder

Mrs. Mary Ruth Felder, affectionately known as Betty, was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina on January 31, 1944 to the late Mr. Theodore Mack and Frances Benjamin. She departed this earthly life for her eternal being on June 27, 2019 at the Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg, South Carolina.

Mrs. Betty received her formal education through the Orangeburg County School System. She was employed with both Jolly Acres Nursing Home and the Methodist Oaks. Mrs. Betty’s religious affiliation was with St. Paul Baptist Church. She was married to the late Mr. Author D. Felder for fifty years.

She was preceded in death by her sisters: Mary “Pansy” Hills, Margaret “Peggy” Hughes, Anna “BB” Hickson and Barbara Sue “Bobbie” Dunham.

Mrs. Betty leaves to cherish her fond and loving memories her two daughters: Frances Felder of the home and Sandra “Joann” (Hayward) Thompson of Orangeburg, South Carolina; her loving six grandchildren: Jaquan Felder, Serenity Felder, and Omari (Kim) Thompson all of Columbia, SC, Christopher, Lavasia and Jamari Thompson all of Orange burg, SC; a host of nieces and nephews she reared in her home: Renell Dunham and Shala Jalen of Columbia, Sandra (Archie) Dash, Michael and Marcus from Essex, MD, Patricia (Robert) Browne, Deneise Irvin from Washington, DC and Roger Dunham from Orangeburg; special family: Sean Reed and Butch Reed of Brooklyn, NY; special family friends: Martha Johnson and Auntie Loretta Byerson and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Services will proceed as follows:

The viewing will be held at Glover's Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm.

The service will be held at Glover's Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 beginning at 3:00pm
