Gwendolyn Ryant

On Friday, November 30, 2019, God said “Gwen, come with me, it’s time to rest. Let’s go home.”

Gwen Ryant, 67, born on January 23, 1952, was the third child of John Henry Raysor and Rever Mae Raysor.

She received a Bachelor’s Degree from SC State University and her Master’s in Business Ed from SC State university. In spite of her retiring, she returned to the classroom because of her passion for teaching. She worked diligently to touch the lives of students and faculty alike.

She was preceded in death by her previous husband (Roosevelt Jones), her mother and father.

She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memories, her husband Jackie Lee Ryant, two sons, Javan Anthony Jones of Kentucky, and John Quintin Jones of Atlanta; three sisters, Barbara Raysor and Patsy Goodwin, both of Orangeburg, and Janice Raysor of Columbia; two Nieces, Monica Goodwin and Daphne Goodwin; nine grandchildren (Simone, Quintin, Kelsea, Michael, Jaylen, Gabrielle, Naomi, Christian and John); one daughter-in-law, Faith Jones; two step-daughters, Jasmine Ryant and Jade McNeil; seven sisters-in-law, Gloria (Eugene) Bonepart, Jessie (Clarence) Greene, Mildred Ryant, Coffie Major, Pernell Ryant, Mable Bradley, Wanda (Larry) Salley, Ruby (Marvin) Tillman and a host of nieces, nephews Cousins and friends. 

Funeral Services will be held at Glovers Funeral Home 2562 Charleston Hwy. Orangeburg SC 29115 on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 12pm. Viewing will be at Glover’s Funeral Home on Tuesday at 1pm to 8pm. Former students are especially invited to attend.
