Mr. Freddie King Simon, son of the late John Simon and Lorine Simon, was born on January 8, 1945. He departed his life on May 1, 2019.
Freddie was educated in the Orangeburg County Public School System. At an early age he left home and moved to New York and helped build sky scrapers. In 1991 he returned to Bowman, South Carolina. He became a self-employed carpenter and electrician. He worked at the Giant Cement Plant in Holly Hill for many years. He also worked with Doug handling and delivering produce.
Freddie rejoined St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church and was a member of the male chorus and the St. Stephens UMC Choir.
Freddie loved his children and would do anything for any and everybody. He enjoyed his life.
Freddie was preceded in death by his parents: Johna nd Lorine Simon; five brothers: Albert, Mannie, Willie, John Henry, and Joe Lewis Simon; and two sisters: Delores Willis and Johnnie Mae Glover.
Freddie leaves to cherish his memories the mother of his daughters: Joyce Nembhard; three daughters: Ashley (Bruce) Corley, Alexis (Gregory) Blackwell, and Natasha Nembhard; one son: Craig (Nadine) Turner; one sister: Fairey T. Johnson; nine grandchildren: Bailey, Josiah, Micah, Neveah, Layla, Krystal, Karisma, Bruce, III and Leum; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will proceed as follows:
The viewing take place at Glover's Funeral Home on Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 1:00pm until 8:00pm
The service will be held at Saint Stephens United Methodist Church located at 1065 Two Church Rd in Bowman, South Carolina 29015 on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 12:00pm.
