Ernest Whaley

Mr. Ernest Whaley was born on December 4, 1956 in Rowesville, SC to the late John Duley, Jr. and Willie Lou Whaley Duley. He departed this life on Monday, June 17, 2019 at TRMC in Orangeburg, SC.
Ernest also know as “Red boy” joined Hickory Grove Missionary Baptist Church at a young age. He received his formal education by attending Orangeburg Wilkinson, Orangeburg, SC.
Ernest worked as a self-made Carpenter in the foot steps of his grandfather Walter Jamison for his church and community at large.
He was preceded in death by his father John Duley, Jr. and his brother, John Duley, III and Franklin Whaley.
Ernest is survived by his loving mother, Willie Lou Duley of the home; two sons, Ernest (Orine) Gilyard of St. Matthews, SC and Andre Whaley of Neeses, SC; three daughters, Latrina (Arthur III) Stephens of Bowman, SC, Keshia (Joseph, Jr.) James of Columbia, SC and Tamika (Quinte Glenn) Gregg, of Orangeburg, SC; one sister Diane (Thomas Mack) Whaley Bowman of Rowesville, SC; two brothers James Whaley of Orangeburg, SC and Jerome (Blance) Whaley, of Rowesville, SC; one sister-in-law, Ruth Duley; a
special friend, Ruby Peoples; ten grandchildren, five great- grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
