Betty Joanne Shuler

Betty Joanne Shuler, beloved daughter of Mr. Nehemiah and Bernice Shuler was born on January 29, 1966 in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She departed this life on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina.

Betty graduated from Bowman High School in 1984. She stayed in close contact with many of her classmates and always looked forward to fellowshiping with them. She enjoyed meeting new people and never met a stranger. Over the years, she worked at various placed where she left a lasting impact on everyone she met. She was last employed with Orangeburg Consolidated School District Five where she worked until her health began to fail.

The love she had for her family was unmeasurable. There was absolutely nothing she would not do for them. Her love was not only displayed through her words, but even more so through her actions. Betty enjoyed growing plants, shopping and spending time with her love ones.

She leaves to cherish fond and precious memories; her parents, Mr. Nehemiah and Bernice Shuler of Bowman, SC; two sons, Shondell Utsey of Durham, NC and Xavier Shuler of Orangeburg, SC; one daughter, Laporche Utsey of Orangeburg, SC; her soon to be daughter-in-law, Charity Grice of Durham, SC; one precious granddaughter, Savannah Utsey of Durham, SC; two sisters, Linda BErry and Mynita Shuler Harrison of Bowman, SC; one brother, LaShaun Shuler of Orangeburg, SC; two brother-in-laws, Larry Berry and Scotty Harrison, both of Bowman, SC; four nephews, Detsan Harrison, Tyler Berry, LaQuan Shuler and Landen Shuler; two nieces, Hayven Harrison and Aubrielle Shuler and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and close friends.

Services will be held as follows:

The service will be held on April, 27, 2019 at Pineville Untied Methodist Church located at 1808 Winter Creek Rd in Bowman, SC. The service will begin at 1:00pm.
